Origin[]
Logan's life began in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada, sometime between 1882 and 1885. The mutant who would come to be known simply as "Logan" was born James Howlett, the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Howlett (who was married to John Howlett, owner of a large estate) and the Howletts' groundskeeper, Thomas Logan. As a boy, James was notably frail and prone to bouts of allergic attacks. He was largely neglected by his mother, who had been institutionalized for a time following the death of her first son, John Jr.
Thomas, in a drunken stupor and armed with a shotgun, invaded the Howlett Estate with his son and attempted to take his former lover Elizabeth with him. John, Sr. attempted to stop him, and Thomas shot him in the head, in cold blood. James had just entered the room when this occurred and his mutation finally manifested: bone claws extended from the backs of his hands and he attacked the intruders with uncharacteristic ferocity, killing Thomas and scarring Dog's face with three claw marks. Already an emotionally disturbed woman since the death of her first son, Elizabeth, completely unhinged, drove James away and took her life immediately afterward with a blast from Thomas' gun
By 1961, Logan, known as Wolverine, now, joined the Weapon X Project, part of the Weapon Plus Program, which had been created to fight the mutant menace. He was then placed on the Black Ops squad run by the CIA, called Team X, with Sabretooth, Silver Fox (who surprisingly appeared to be alive and with no memories of her time with Logan), Maverick, Kestrel, and Mastodon. During this time, Logan and the others received memory implants via staged scenarios, telepathic manipulation by Aldo Ferro, and other technology. Weapon X also duplicated Wolverine's healing factor and implanted it in Team X, slowing their aging processes.

Friendship[]
If Hunter befriends him, Logan gets along well with them as a fellow fighter and shares his own experiences.
Level 1[]
Hunter is surprised Logan asked for their company at the bar, having thought him a loner. Logan explains he doesn't have a problem with being around others; it's just the other way around most times. Hunter assures Logan that he is a valuable ally, and that they wish that they had met under better circumstances. Logan thanks Hunter for accepting him; most people can't handle someone with decades more emotional baggage than them. Logan warns Hunter that being a team player isn't his strong suit, which is why he's been freelance for a while. Hunter tells Logan that he's welcome to stay as long as he wishes; Logan thanks them, noting the Abbey is swankier than the Xavier Mansion.
Level 2[]
At the Yard, Logan thanks Hunter for having his back in the field, but warns that excessive association with him is hazardous. He explains that Sabretooth has killed many people close to Logan -- friends, girlfriends, and even a mail carrier. Logan admits that this is why he is scared of getting close to others. He thanks Hunter for being a friend.
Level 3[]
Hunter and Logan hang out at one of the decrepit buildings. Logan shares that he's gone by many names in the past, including Weapon X. Hunter feels that it's an appropriate name for Logan, as it evokes a deadly feeling. This makes Logan ponder what he could have been like if he had a less aggressive name, and wonders if Hunter's own name set them on their path. Hunter is sure they are not meant to spend their whole life on the hunt. Logan admits some jealousy that Hunter had Caretaker to look out for them, something he wishes he had in his life. Thanks to Hunter's friendship, Logan feels like he's getting his edge back. He notes that he hasn't had a trusted teammate since taking a break from the X-Men.
Level 4[]
To Hunter's surprise, Logan wants to try playing video games on Robbie's game console. Logan, for the life of himself, cannot fathom why Robbie spends so much time on it; finding it complicated than Shi'ar tech and trickier than Professor Xavier's Danger Room. They attempt to turn it on, but nothing happens. Logan suggests getting Robbie to make the device work, which Hunter notes is a different approach than normal. Logan attributes this change to Hunter's influence; normally he would have just destroyed the console in anger, but Logan feels persuading Peter or Robbie would work. Humorously, the two don't notice that the console is simply not plugged in.
Level 5[]
Logan and Hunter lounge at the pool. Noticing Logan joyful humming, Hunter inquires as to what has him in a good mood. Logan explains he is feeling decades younger thanks to Hunter. He believes the future is in good hands, even if old timers like him and Sara don't make it after the final battle. Hunter asks Logan what he will do after the battle. Logan says he may go back to the X-Men, hoping he can convince Professor Xavier to take him back. Logan decides they should enjoy a dip in the pool.

Trivia[]

- He's visited the Abbey before, and befriended Sara and Agatha. Sara comments on the Hunter's contact with Wolverine after Story Mission The Best There Is.
- The Midnight Sun short shows Logan to be familiar enough with Sara's scent, to calmly greet her while he's focusing on something else.
- Logan says he tends to avoid contact with people, due to Sabretooth's history of killing people close to him.
- He taught Molly, former member of the Runaways, by teasing her; with the lesson being to not let others get on her nerves. Logan pointed out if anyone did that, they would have died from Molly's super strength.
- During a Hangout, Logan admits that he can't feel relaxed as it make him feel a metaphorical knife twisting in his gut; his remedy for that is to go look for a fight.
