Mission: Weird Science[]
Peter tells Blade that he may know someone who can assist with the Vampyre crisis. They head to New York City and find Peter's friend Morbius drinking the blood of a Turned Trooper. It is quickly clear that Blade and Morbius are familiar with each other, but are not on the best of terms. Spider-Man defuses the situation and they agree to head to Morbius' lab in the sewers, but before they can move out, a group of Vampyres attacks.
After defeating the enemies, the trio makes it to Morbius' lab in the sewers. He explains that he had been researching the Turned Hydra to see if their gamma-infused blood could protect him from sunlight. His initial prototype worked better than he expected and he believed it could turn him into a Daywalker. However, Hydra stole the prototype along with all of his notes. Suddenly, they are attacked by a group of Turned Hydra and Vampyres.
The trio defeat the attackers and successfully defend the device in Morbius' lab. They all head back to the Abbey, where Hunter immediately senses the presence of an unknown vampire. Hunter confronts Morbius, but Spider-Man and Blade smooth things over for the time being, pointing out that the Suns need the help.
After the others leave, Morbius tells Hunter about the gamma serum he created to shield vampires from the effects of sunlight, and how it was stolen from him. The two agree that getting that serum back is a priority.
Mission: Dead Inside[]
Several heroes are gathered at the Mirror Table to discuss how to recover Morbius' prototype before it can be used by Hydra to create Vampyres that are impervious to sunlight. Peter locates a Hydra facility that's broadcasting a distress signal about a Vampyre attack, and a trio of heroes heads to the location on the assumption that the "Sunlight Serum" is there.
At the site, the team finds the facility damaged, and the bodies of Hydra troops scattered around the area. Suddenly Sin appears on the monitors and orders an attack on the heroes. After defeating Sin's Vampyres, they proceed through the facility, finding Sin herself with the prototype and another battle ensues.
The heroes defeat Sin and recover the serum from her. However, Morbius quickly realizes that some of it is missing. He grabs Sin by the throat, holding her at the edge of the platform, and demands to know what happened to the rest. Sin gloats that they have already produced enough Sunlight Serum to supply an army of Vampyres, and that it has already been delivered to Dracula. She turns to mist and escapes.
That night, back at the Abbey, Hunter finds Morbius near Hunter's Folly. Morbius tells them that he wants to be left alone, but eventually confides that he is angry that Sin stole his work and used it to further their cause. He feels responsible for the creation of Vampyres that are immune to sunlight. Hunter tells him that he couldn't have known this would happen, and assures him that they will fix it, together.
Mission: Here Comes the Sun[]
Blade and Morbius are in the Forge when Carol comes in with word of a Vampyre attack in Central Park. The two vampires are joined by a third hero and the trio heads to the scene to find civilians under attack. After saving them, the team faces off against a pack of Vampyres.
The heroes emerge victorious, just as the sun starts to rise. Another group of Vampyres exits a tunnel into the light, unharmed. From behind them, Dracula emerges, similarly impervious to the effects of the sun. The team engages him in battle.
The heroes battle Dracula valiantly, but they can't keep him down for long. Finally, he makes an offer to Blade and Morbius to join his side in exchange for being made impervious to sunlight. Before they can refuse, the Vampyres suddenly begin to disintegrate. Dracula's own skin begins to smoke. Morbius reveals that the process of mass producing the Sunlight Serum diluted it, causing it to only last a short time. Dracula transforms into a cloud of bats and escapes into the sewers.
Back at the Abbey, Morbius congratulates Hunter on dealing a major blow to Dracula's plans. Hunter deflects, and says that Morbius is the one that deserves the credit. Morbius is happy that the Sunlight Serum is so diluted that it no longer poses a threat. He is grateful to the Midnight Suns for all of their help and tells Hunter that he remains committed to their mission against Lilith in return. Morbius asks Hunter if he should use his notes about the serum to continue his research on a possible cure for vampirism, or if he should destroy them. Hunter reflects on the risks and benefits and gives Morbius advice on what to do.
