Mission: Los Diablos[]
Tony is briefing the team about his plan. Caretaker sums it as blowing up the indestructible Parchment of Power with a giant ray gun. Doctor Strange still objects to the plan, believe it impossible.
Tony explains that the Los Diablos area was the site of the gamma bomb explosion that created the Hulk, and the entire area is still saturated in gamma radiation even now. His plan is to use the Gamma Accelerator to absorb the gamma radiation from the site and supercharge it to power his Gamma Cannon. Supercharged gamma radiation is powerful but dangerous, but he assures everyone that his Gamma Cannon will contain the energy. Tony calls on everyone, including the Midnight Suns to help.
Ghost Rider and Iron Man reach Los Diablos first to prepare for the plan. Iron Man is readying the Gamma Cannon, while Robbie is driving around the area keeping a safe distance until the Cannon is ready. The rest of the heroes arrive to see a huge cloud of dust approaching as Fallen Sabretooth and a horde of Lilin arrive. Meanwhile, Banner and Crossbones surveil the area from a helicopter, looking for Ghost Rider with the Parchment.
Hunter, Magik, and Wolverine defend the Gamma Accelerator long enough for it to absorb the needed gamma radiation. Fallen Sabretooth manages to pin Wolverine and is about to deliver the killing blow when Magik surprises him, stabbing him through the back. Sabretooth disappears as if drawn into one of Magik's portals as he apparently dies.
Ghost Rider starts to head to the site, but a Guardian jumps out and flips his car. A second Guardian joins it and the two approach Robbie as he lies in the street injured and unable to move. Johnny Blaze follows them from behind, and Robbie thinks Blaze has made another deal to betray them. But Blaze blasts both Guardians with his shotgun, saving Robbie. Blaze leans over Robbie and takes the Parchment of Power back. He jumps on his motorcycle and starts heading to the Gamma Cannon.
Blaze jumps his motorcycle into the path of the Gamma Cannon, sacrificing himself to try to destroy the page. At the same time, Banner leaps out of the helicopter and into the blast area. There is a tremendous explosion and after the smoke clears, Fallen Hulk is standing there with the Parchment in his hand. The plan has not only failed to destroy the page, but has given Lilith a powerful new weapon in the Hulk.
The heroes fight valiantly but are outclassed by Fallen Hulk. He tosses them around like ragdolls and laughs off their strongest attacks. Eventually he simply leaps away; the heroes are unsure why he left, but assume it is because his priority is to deliver the page to Lilith.
Tony is in disbelief that Lilith orchestrated this outcome. Hunter replies that their mother always gets what she wants. Now that she has the Darkhold the only other thing she wishes for is Hunter.
That Night[]
Wolverine is standing by himself outside of the Abbey. He explains to Hunter that he has a cigar that he was saving to smoke when Sabretooth was finally gone. However, since Magik was the one who killed him, he doesn't feel like smoking it. He's also worried about her, because taking a life can change a person.
Steve and Tony are arguing near the War Room. Steve is trying to get Tony to see that he might need to look to other for answers after today's failure. Tony isn't listening and insists that he can fix this.
Peter is in the Chapel helping Robbie write a eulogy for Johnny Blaze. After all that has happened, Robbie has conflicting feelings about Blaze and is having a difficult time.
