Mission: A Not-So-Beautiful Mind[]
Carol is working at C.E.N.T.R.A.L., running searches for Johnny Blaze when strange errors pop up on the terminal with Latin text. Tony translates it as "do not trust the horse, Trojans", and recognizes it as a message from one of his father's security protocols. It indicates that unauthorized access to a sensitive project has been detected. Iron Man, Hunter and another hero prepare to depart to the location.
After reaching the site, Iron Man rushes ahead to have a talk with Banner. Tony quickly realizes that Banner triggered the security protocol on purpose to draw him in. Banner tries to convince Tony to join him to finish Howard's work, but Tony refuses, saying that he already has a team, pointing to the other heroes who have just now arrived. Several Hydra Mystics and other troops appear and a battle begins.
The heroes successfully defend the server from Hydra and download the data they needed. Banner runs off and the team gives chase. They arrive in another lab, where Banner taunts them from a video screen, telling them that this was the trap. A rift charge in the middle of the room goes off, summoning a Dread Maiden.
The heroes vanquish the Dread Maiden and the other Lilin that were summoned. Iron Man apologizes for rushing ahead, before destroying his father's equipment to erase the information contained within.
That Night[]
Back at the Abbey, Iron Man is angry that Banner used his family issues against him. He explains that his father was a defense contractor who created many powerful weapons. Howard had an interest in gamma radiation, and had dreamed of creating a Gamma Accelerator. It would be extremely dangerous if Banner was able to use Howard's old plans to create one now.
The Next Day[]
As Hunter nears the War Room, Tony, Nico and Magik are having an animated discussion. Tony is trying to find out if they saw the Gamma Accelerator when they were magically transported to the lab where they encountered Fallen Scarlet Witch. Magik and Nico, who don't even know what it looks like, aren't able to say whether they saw it or not.
Then Tony reveals that he believes the Gamma Accelerator could destroy the Parchment of Power, while Doctor Strange points out the conclusion; if the Parchment is destroyed then the Prophecy cannot come true.
Magik would normally be able to open a portal to the lab again, as her sword retains the memory of it, but when she tries to do so there is a demonic energy barrier blocking it. Tony thinks that Caretaker will stand in their way, but Hunter tells him to worry about the barrier instead.
Afterward, Hunter finds Tony and Strange back at the Forge. Tony explains that the Gamma Accelerator supercharges gamma radiation, and with a few tweaks, it could become a powerful weapon. He thinks the team should put aside getting back to the lab for now, and prioritize obtaining the Parchment of Power from Johnny Blaze. Strange tells Hunter that the barrier protecting the lab is made out of dark energy similar to their own. He needs more time to do research, but there may be a way that Hunter can pass through the barrier.
Hunter tells Caretaker about the plan to return to the lab; predictably, she is opposed to the idea. Next, Hunter finds Magik who is curious about their talk with Caretaker. Hunter relates that it went as expected. Magik warns Hunter that they need to be prepared for Wanda when they go back to the lab.
At night, Hunter finds Blade and Wolverine training together in the Yard and overhears a conversation about their dark pasts. When Hunter speaks to Blade, Blade confides that Lilith is tempting him; as her darkness grows, his own power becomes stronger. It's getting harder to keep his bloodsucking side at bay.
The Following Day[]
As Hunter approaches the Mirror Table, Caretaker, Tony, and Doctor Strange are already there, trying to explain to a confused Robbie how he is going to summon Johnny Blaze. Robbie questions if he is the right person for the job.
