Many of the pages in this wiki were built using Templates. This guide is meant to assist wiki contributors who may not be familiar with how to edit Templates.

In this guide, we will be adding an image to an existing page, Kitsch Witch. This guide assumes:
- We're using the Visual Editor - this is the default editor for most people, and looks basically like you're editing the web page with full formatting and pictures. If you're using the Source Editor, which looks more like markup or program code, then see Alternatives below.
- We've already uploaded the image to the wiki and called it "Kitch Witch.jpg".
Getting Ready to Edit[]
Open the editor by clicking the Edit button in the top right.
Step 1[]
First, you need to open the template editor. There are faint gray bands running across the screen in the screenshot to the left. If you place your mouse on one of those bands, you should get a pop-up with the template name to let you know you're hovering over a template. In this case, it is the CosmeticInfo template, which is the primary template for this page. If you're having trouble finding the correct location, try hovering over the Infobox on the right hand side, or near the text on the page.
Once you've found the right area, click the mouse button and you should get the pop-up shown in Step 2 below.
Step 2[]
Click the Edit button in the Template pop-up pictured to the left. This will bring up the Edit Template window pictured in Step 3 below.
Step 3[]
The Edit Template window is where you can change the information stored in the template, which will change what appears on the page. Since we were trying to add an image to this page, we will need to scroll down as shown in the picture in Step 4 below.
Step 4[]
Once you find the Image parameter, type the new filename into the box. You don't need to use any wiki markup, just the exact filename including the extension, ".jpg" in this case. Make sure to press the Apply button when done.
Alternatives[]
The main guide above was targeted at contributors who use the Visual Editor. Templates can be edited with the Source Editor as well, and the process might even be easier for those familiar with the Source Editor.
Editing Templates with the Source Editor[]
Once you open the templated page in the Source Editor, you'll see a screen like in the picture to the left. You can change any of the parameters by editing the text in each of the lines after the equals sign.
