Story Summary[]

Blade and Morbius are in the Forge when Carol comes in with word of a Vampyre attack in Central Park. The two vampires are joined by a third hero and the trio heads to the scene to find civilians under attack. After saving them, the team faces off against a pack of Vampyres.

The heroes emerge victorious, just as the sun starts to rise. Another group of Vampyres exits a tunnel into the light, unharmed. From behind them, Dracula emerges, similarly impervious to the effects of the sun. The team engages him in battle.

The heroes battle Dracula valiantly, but they can't keep him down for long. Finally, he makes an offer to Blade and Morbius to join his side in exchange for being made impervious to sunlight. Before they can refuse, the Vampyres suddenly begin to disintegrate. Dracula's own skin begins to smoke. Morbius reveals that the process of mass producing the Sunlight Serum diluted it, causing it to only last a short time. Dracula transforms into a cloud of bats and escapes into the sewers.

Back at the Abbey, Morbius congratulates Hunter on dealing a major blow to Dracula's plans. Hunter deflects, and says that Morbius is the one that deserves the credit. Morbius is happy that the Sunlight Serum is so diluted that it no longer poses a threat. He is grateful to the Midnight Suns for all of their help and tells Hunter that he remains committed to their mission against Lilith in return. Morbius asks Hunter if he should use his notes about the serum to continue his research on a possible cure for vampirism, or if he should destroy them. Hunter reflects on the risks and benefits and gives Morbius advice on what to do.
