Essences are a type of resource that can be obtained through salvaging, mission rewards, studying Artifacts, or by picking up collectible resources around the Abbey (such as during the Clean Sweep hero request).
Essences are used to upgrade or apply mods to Abilities in the Yard, build items at the Item Bench, or brew recipes in Agatha's Cauldron.
