Friendship[]
Hunter helps Deadpool begin to see the power of friendship.
Level 1[]
Deadpool and Hunter are together, and Deadpool calls it a "meeting of weirdos". Hunter wonders why Deadpool thinks they are weird. Deadpool explains that it is because they talk like they're an ancient artifact, are hundreds of years old, and have deep-rooted mommy issues. Hunter wonders if Deadpool is concerned about fitting in, and Deadpool replies that he doesn't care. When Hunter presses the issue, Deadpool admits that he likes Hunter's "schtick".
Level 2[]
Deadpool is standing in a patch of flowers. Hunter asks him why he is gardening, and Deadpool replies that since he's not getting along with anyone else he decided to make nice with Mother Nature. He seems a little bitter, pointing out that everyone is falling all over themselves to be Hunter's friend. Deadpool asks how Hunter knows that they are friends, and not just fans. Hunter replies that they value each other. Deadpool doesn't understand, saying the only person you need is yourself.
Level 3[]
Hunter and Deadpool are talking in Deadpool's room. Deadpool tells a story: Once upon a time, a handsome mercenary had friends and family that loved him. However, chaos and destruction followed him everywhere, so he said goodbye to his loved ones to live a life of solitude. Hunter is glad that Deadpool has opened up a little bit, but Deadpool goes back to responding with wisecracks. When Hunter points this out, Deadpool says that after telling his sob story, he doesn't want any more mushy gushy talk.
Level 4[]
Deadpool asks Hunter to meet him in the Chapel. He explains that this seemed like the right place for a confession. At first Deadpool jokes, claiming to secretly be a magician, leading Hunter to ask why he always turns everything into jokes. Deadpool finally opens up and admits that it's easier to joke than it is to be vulnerable. Pushing away everyone else protects him from being hurt emotionally, and them from being hurt by his enemies.
In turn, Hunter tells Deadpool that no one truly knows what they're doing, and confides that they don't always have it all figured out. Deadpool is surprised, saying that Hunter puts on a good show. He asks if they ever worry about breaking down. Hunter replies that the entire team just needs to hold it together until the end of the battle against Lilith. Hunter tells Deadpool that the others would enjoy seeing this more honest side of him, but Deadpool replies that it's more fun to be the way he normally is.
Level 5[]
Hunter meets Deadpool at the cliffs. Hunter asks what he is doing here. Deadpool makes a joke but then says he wanted to apologize. However, he quickly slips back into wisecracking. He comments that old habits are hard to break, which prompts Hunter to tell him that not everything in life is easy.
When Deadpool replies that he wishes it was, Hunter tells him to think of it as a fun challenge, and asks if he is interested in seeing a new version of himself. Deadpool confirms he is, and asks if Hunter really thinks he can change. They reply that it is a process, and Deadpool thanks them for sticking around when he hasn't made it easy. Hunter agrees, but tells him that he made it fun.
