History[]
Following The Bell Tolls..., Fallen Venom retreats to the sewers, no longer needed by Lilith to guard the Sanctum Sanctorum; Bruce Banner had completed his Artifact Research to create the bomb that destroyed the Sanctum.
When the Sanctum fell, Dracula began infesting Manhattan with his Vampyres. Fallen Venom began feeding on the vampyres, unintentionally infecting himself with their bloodlust but breaking Lilith's control over him. This newly mutated Blood Venom made a nest over a den of Hemaliscs, so he could easily feed on them. Word soon spread through New York about a "Slime Monster" in the sewers.
Spider-Man and Hunter discovered Blood Venom by investigating the sewers. After getting a beating by the Heroes, Blood Venom became unstable from the conflicting powers of his symbiote, Lilith's demonic magic, and the Vampyre's infectious bloodlust. After making a deal with Spider-Man, Mephisto cured Blood Venom back to his regular, unpossessed form.
