Arcane Key

Arcane Keys are used to open Arcane Chests. They may be found around the Abbey Grounds, or received as a reward.

Story

When Hunter follows Agatha to the Elemental Altar to call the plinths intended for the Elemental Rods, Agatha gives Hunter one of these keys before she returns to the Library, to study more of Wanda's Journal.

Arcane Keys

You've collected an Arcane Key!

Arcane Keys can open the Arcane Chests scattered around the Abbey and its grounds.

Locations

Daily sparring, mission challenges, as well as petting Charlie or Ebony can reward you with one or more Arcane Keys.

Abbey Grounds

• Next to the Crater behind the abbey, down a ladder and through the door you need to open:

Atum's Shrine

• When you obtain the Word of Power Reveal, use it on the bridge next to the statue. Cross the bridge to find the key:

Elemental Altar

• You can obtain a key once each night with the right offering for the Offering Bowl.

• You receive 5 keys while completing the mystery Agatha's Altar:

One is given before placing any Elemental Rods

One is given for placing the Air Rod.

One is given for placing the Earth Rod.

One is given for placing the Fire Rod.

One is given for placing the Water Rod.

• Another key can be revealed to the right of the altar, before coming upon the bridge that leads to the RARE chest:

Dreamer's Descent

• You can reveal a key immediately upon entering Dreamer's Descent from the proper Abbey Grounds:

• Another key can be revealed to the north, by the breakable wall leading to Gideon's Cross:

• Yet another key can be revealed near the Pet Cemetery:

Hunter's Folly

• You can reveal a key behind the building:

Agatha's Cottage

• This key can be revealed to the right of the cottage, behind the low walls:

Hyppus' Shrine

• This key is sitting on a table before the Blood Gate door:

Stone Terrace

• One key can be revealed next to the play-fort where Hunter left Lilith's doll:

• Past the first key, and up a hill on the right, another key can be revealed:

Valley of the Winds

• If you travel past the Old Salem Cemetery and The Hanging Tree, up the hill and to the right is a Reveal slab that triggers this key. If you've reached the vines that can be purified, you've gone too far:

• Located along a side path between Shaw's Church and the Old Salem Cemetery:

Notes

• At Arcane Level 4, the player can open COMMON Chests without an Arcane Key.
• At Arcane Level 5, the player can open RARE Chests without an Arcane Key.
